GSL Education are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Sports Graduate to join a client school in Huddersfield either as a Teaching Assistant or Cover Supervisor.

This exciting role offers the chance to assist teachers in the classroom, lead sporting activities, and provide general cover across different subjects. Key Responsibilities:

As a Sports Graduate (Teaching Assistant/Cover Supervisor), you will:

Assist teaching staff by supporting students in their learning, focusing on both academic subjects and physical education. Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring that students remain engaged and that learning continues effectively across different subjects. Lead small group or one-on-one sessions, particularly in sports-related activities, helping students develop both their physical and academic skills. Support the classroom teacher with lesson preparation and providing additional help to students who may require extra attention. Help manage student behavior, ensuring a positive learning environment during lessons, break times, and extra-curricular activities. Act as a role model in promoting physical activity and a healthy lifestyle through sports sessions, boosting students' engagement and motivation. Support the school's educational and pastoral goals by building rapport with students and contributing to a positive school culture. Requirements:

To thrive as a Sports Graduate (Teaching Assistant/Cover Supervisor), you should have:

A degree in Sports Studies, Physical Education, or a related field. A passion for working with children and young people, especially in supporting their academic and physical development. Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to engage students of different ages and abilities. Flexibility to step into both teaching assistant and Cover Supervisor roles, adapting to various classroom settings and subjects. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Currently residing in the UK. A valid enhanced DBS on the Update Service. Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection. Successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
