We are looking for someone with a natural elegance and passion for providing an outstanding level of service that is personalised, confident and calm to join the Bars Team at our clients prestigious Hotel.
What is the main purpose of the role?
Support the Bars Manager with the day to day operation of all beverage service areas across the hotel, while helping to drive and improve product and service standards among the team.
The Bars Supervisor will help with the delivery of high quality beverage service to maximise revenue through up-selling, service standards.

Exceptional communication skills are essential.

You must have previous experience within a fast paced Bar environment and ideally have used an online booking system before e.g. Open Table.

An outgoing, friendly and positive personality is a must alongside the natural ability to be a great team player.

Ideally you will be focused, with an eye for detail and the ability to think on your feet and keep calm in all situations.

It is essential that you are fluent in English, but an additional language would be advantageous.
What are my key Responsibilities and Duties

Assist the Bars Manager with the effective and smooth operation of the bar on a daily basis.

Supervise the work of all bar team members, delegating tasks, duties and responsibilities to staff members.

Ensure that all staff are aware of their role when you are running the shift.

Support the Bars Managers with training sessions for bar shift leaders, bar tenders and food & beverage assistants and recognise the need for training among staff members.

Ensure that the billing procedures related to charging beverage are adhered to and when cashing up bar tills ensure that the relevant procedures are followed correctly and securely in line with cash handling procedures.

Be able to understand and assist with the ordering of beverage related stock for the department, understanding that the amount of beverage related stock ordered must meet business demands.

Help to keep staff motivation levels high by showing confidence when running a shift, leading the team and always promoting positive attitudes to help encourage the same across the bar assistants.

Ensure that communication procedures put in place by the Bars Manager are adhered to e.g. filling in the handover diary at the end of a shift on a day to day basis in order for the department to run smoothly.

Report all bar related feedback, comments or criticism from guests to the Bars Managers or Duty Manager.

Stay fully aware of the requirements of all liquor licensing legislation and the property’s Entertainment license, and help to support the Bars Manager in ensuring that all bar staff work in accordance with these laws.

Ensure that the Weights and Measures Act and Trade Descriptions Act are adhered to at all times and regulations of licensing are visible on all bars set up throughout the hotel.

Help drive for results through target setting projects by ensuring that these are well communicated and actively encouraged to all bar tenders and food & beverage assistants and that staff achievements are reviewed and recorded regularly.
