Job Title: Residential Child Care Worker (Nights) - Part-Time (0.64 FTE)
Location: Balerno, Edinburgh
Salary: £20,878 - £26,433 per annum (depending on qualifications)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Residential Child Care Worker (Nights) to join our night care team on a part-time, permanent basis. Working on a six nights on / ten nights off rota, from 10 pm to 7:30 am, this role is essential in providing stability, security, and care to young residents during the night hours. This position includes opportunities to cover additional night shifts, though it’s not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:

Childcare & Supervision: Ensure the safety, care, and comfort of children throughout the night, responding to their needs in collaboration with other team members.

Positive Interaction: Engage positively with children, employing solution-focused and strengths-based approaches to support their emotional well-being.

Routine Management: Help maintain a consistent, nurturing night-time environment, including attending to any disturbances and implementing care plans.

Record Keeping: Maintain up-to-date records of each child’s progress, care logs, and incident reports.

Team Participation: Work collaboratively with the care team to create a warm, homelike setting and contribute to Harmeny’s culture and values.
Requirements:

Experience: Previous experience in residential childcare, social care, or a related field is highly desirable.

Compassionate Nature: A nurturing, empathetic, and patient attitude towards young people, understanding the importance of creating a safe environment.

Qualifications: SVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People and/or HNC in Social Services or equivalent is desirable, but not essential. Training will be provided.
