RM Recruit are proud to be working with a dynamic and faith based Christian charity organisation in Birmingham who are seeking a bright, well-experienced Finance Assistant to join their team on a part-time, permanent basis working 15-20 hours per week. Our client is able to offer a flexible, hybrid working arrangement with two days onsite and two days working from home with a generous holiday package and a great pension scheme. As a Finance Assistant you will play a crucial role in supporting the finance department with day-to-day accounting tasks. Responsibilities include:

Input supplier invoices into the Xero accounting system promptly, ensuring accurate descriptions, values, general ledger, and fund codes.
Verify supplier invoices to ensure goods or services have been received, and the invoice values are correct.
Collaborate with suppliers to resolve any disputes.
Regularly reconcile supplier statements.
Prepare a supplier payment schedule for review and approval by the CFO.
Raise sales invoices in accordance with internal processes, ensuring accurate coding.
Maintain the sales ledger and assist in chasing overdue debts.
Post receipts, payments, and reconcile bank and credit card accounts daily.
Support month-end and year-end closing procedures. Person Specification
Previous experience in a finance or accounting role is preferred
Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Xero accounting software
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) is a plus
Strong organisational and time-management skills
