6-month initial contract with the opportunity to join on a permanent basis.
£11.96 p/h
We are working with one of the largest UK Train Operating Companies (currently operating 464 stations, the most of any TOC in the UK), who are seeking to recruit a Train Presentation Operative join the train cleaning team based in Heaton Depot.
They are looking for someone with a ‘go getter’ attitude who isn’t afraid to get stuck in and can lead a team by example.
The Role:
This role will consist of all aspects of interior cleaning, from hoovering floors, replenishing & cleaning toilets, sanitizing touch points, buffering and much more.
Hours wise, it is an 20:15pm-06:15am night shift role, which will mainly consist of working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern – although this may also run as a continental shift pattern, i.e 5 on 3 off.
You will be looking after the Northern Rail, LNER & TransPennine Express fleets. Your role is going to be 100% interior cleaning focused. There is one cleaner per 3 or 4 carriages, meaning you will be working in a team of 4 at most times.
The depot itself is large in its presence with a requirement to be physically fit to move around the depot with no restrictions.
The Company:
The company covers the whole of the North, which includes the North East & West of England, Yorkshire and the Humber, as well as the occasional part of the East Midlands and Staffordshire.
As a result of this, they have a large fleet of trains – 333 to be precise, so it's safe to say you will be active & busy with your role!

Progression routes – Our client is hiring into their business on a permanent basis after an initial phase on a 6-month contract. Requirements:
Be able to pass a Drugs & Alcohol test
Be able to pass a full rail medical – this will include, sight, hearing, colourisation, heart, lungs, brain, etc
Provide your Right to Work documents before deployment
Must have team leading experience, but this does NOT have to be rail based
Happy to help mentality/attitude
A decent fitness is needed as the site is very large and will involve a lot of walking, so please keep this in mind when applying
