Heyland Recruitment are working exclusively alongside this specialist manufacturing SME as they look to recruit an experienced Management Accountant to join their finance team. As a Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in providing financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making within the organization. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in financial accounting and management to contribute to the success of the company.
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will be responsible for:
Gathering and analysing trends within an organisation's finances
Putting together reports for senior leaders
Controlling and forecasting income and expenditure
Advising on finance-related decisions
Developing and managing financial systems/policies.
Preparing income statements, balance sheets and other financial documents
Measuring the company's financial performance based on financial records
Identifying problem areas and presenting recommendations to company management
Supervising delivery of Accounts payable/Accounts receivable
Performing audits of departments within the organisation
Overseeing other aspects of financial operations such as bookkeeping and payroll
Evaluating and monitoring financial information systems and recommending improvements where needed
Communicating and interpreting financial data to non-financial managers
Demonstrate understanding of products, machine capabilities & customer expectations.
Be aware of and understand cost implications on the business. Assist in opportunities to reduce cost.
Understand and participate in group initiatives. Identify potential future opportunities for improvement.
Support training and development of colleagues as required.
Ensure appropriate communications are conducted daily to team, customer service and commercial departments.Requirements Attributes / Experience:
Proven experience as management accountant, accounting supervisor or similar role
Solid knowledge of basic and advanced accounting and financial principles and practices
Excellent knowledge of cost accounting and reporting
Excellent knowledge or risk analysis, budgeting and forecasting
Working knowledge of financial software and MS Office
Analytical mind with aptitude in maths
Excellent communication and presentation skills
A problem-solver with attention to detail
Organizational and leadership skills
Advanced Excel skills
Experience of ERP systems and databases useful
BSc/BA in accounting, finance or similar field
Relevant certification (e.g. CMA or CGMA) or equivalentJW/0366
