The role:
Global Talent 2020 are proudly working with our exciting rapidly growing Restaurant and Bars client for their brand-new flagship and landmark venue in Greenock on the west coast of Scotland in recruiting for an ambitious Head Chef to lead and join their exciting Kitchen operations. This is a state-of-the-art kitchen that has been built from scratch and will be the biggest site in the portfolio.
The restaurant is an addition to a well-established brand within the portfolio, will focus on fresh quality seafood caught locally and will be extremely popular with locals and tourists alike attracting visitors from the culturally vibrant city of Glasgow. It has a 200-cover modern and trendy styled restaurant inside and an exterior dining area that will prove very popular over the summer.

The person:
Our passionate, ambitious client at Global Talent 2020, is looking for a real leader in the kitchen, someone who will harness the talent of the brigades, utilise the brand-new fantastic kitchen facilities to their advantage, to provide memorable popular food experiences for its customers, and put the location on the map in the West of Scotland, as a noted place to dine.
The ideal Head Chef candidate must have had prior experience of producing fresh quality food, to a minimum 1 rosette culinary level standard, and had experience of volume restaurants in the high street space. You will need to be highly approachable with your personality, as you will be interacting with other senior department heads, regional management, and with all levels of the site diverse teams.
Our client requires an ideal Head Chef, that is keen to train, coach and mentor their teams, evolve food services, deliver consistent menus and food concepts, and further the reputation of the business as an Employer of choice.
As the Head Chef, you must be proven to be flexible, and highly adaptive in all your approaches to your team, and also with delivery of concepts developed with the company Chef Director, and Regional Head Chef.
As Head Chef, you must also be someone that not only has strong all-round culinary abilities, great presentation skills, possess food innovation skills, but someone that also is an effective manager of the kitchen environment, health, and safety, COSHH, RIDDOR, recruitment, training, and mentoring of others, and possess strong cost & budgetary control skill sets of their area.
