As a Graduate seeking PGCE experience Tradewind will be able to place you as a Cover Supervisor or a Teaching Assistant. How do the roles differ?

As a Cover Supervisor you will be required to oversee the completion of set work in the absence of the subject teacher. A role as a Cover Supervisor in a secondary school will really help refine your behaviour management strategies as you are responsible for managing the behaviour of the class. You are required to safeguard students wellbeing, feedback at the end of the day to the cover manager, including reporting any issues.

As a Teaching Assistant you could either work on a 1-2-1 or in a small group setting. The role of a Teaching Assistant could see you working with students with SEND or students who have been identified as requiring catch up. As a Teaching Assistant you will be required to converse with the subject teacher to discuss specific requirements for the lesson.

An Enhanced DBS Disclosure Certificate, which is on the update service or be willing to apply for one (cost refunded after the completion of 20 days' work)

You must have the legal right to work in the UK
