I am working with a growing Creative Design Agency who have an exciting new opportunity for a Designer to join their team working with top Retail organisations!

Job Purpose

To focus on the technical design development/ engineering of design solutions using SolidWorks and work with external manufacturing partners to develop cost effective solutions.
To provide technical project support and detailed component and assembly drawings to enable accurate quoting and the production of prototypes and volume manufacture.
To work with project managers in the production stages of complex retail projects and identify the best supply partners and resources.

Operational

To provide a wide range of knowledge and understanding of all relevant manufacturing techniques and materials commonly used with retail fixtures and furniture/displays.
To ensure that the solutions developed for any project are safe, commercially viable and answer the client brief.
Demonstrate competence and proficiency in working in SolidWorks and similar CAD application.
Provide technical knowhow to other members of the wider teams, in particular in areas of project management and 3D creative design.
Maintain accurate filing of development projects using the structured drawing files, names and notes to enable an accurate record off all design development and revisions.
To understand and use correct process and procedures for purchasing and accurate quoting and project management via Sage200 and MS Excel worksheets.
To help communicate with clients and support client relationships to ensure the smooth delivery of projects.
To liaise where necessary with any external agencies and suppliers relating to the manufacture and assembly.
To provide and complete design risk assessments for all units prototyped or manufactured.
Through continuing professional development ensure that personal knowledge and skills are maintained and developed to consistently provide high standards of quality and output.

Strategic

To provide engineering / technical knowhow and support to colleagues in the production of well-considered design solutions.
To ensure we deliver products of high quality and that are well designed, to help ensuring client’s requirements are always met.
To share and promote sound technical design understanding of manufacturing related issues and processes
