Key Responsibilities:
- Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and dynamic history lessons aligned with the National Curriculum.
- Inspiring students to think critically about historical events, their causes, and their impacts.
- Fostering a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, discussion, and debate.
- Assessing and monitoring student progress through assignments, exams, and projects, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
- Integrating technology, multimedia resources, and innovative teaching strategies to enhance the learning experience.
- Collaborating with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and promote a cohesive learning environment.
- Participating in parent-teacher consultations, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.
- Contributing to extracurricular activities such as history clubs, school trips, or competitions to enrich students' learning experiences.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A Bachelor’s degree in History, Education, or a related field (PGCE or equivalent is imperative).
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Proven experience teaching history at [appropriate key stage, e.g., KS3, KS4, KS5].
- Deep knowledge of historical content and pedagogical techniques.
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for history and the ability to inspire students.
- Proficiency in integrating technology into teaching practices.
