Job Description: Night Shift Cleaner and security – Health & Fitness Club

Position: Cleaner Location: Workout Ashton, North St, BS3 1JS Days of Work: Monday to Friday Hours of Work: 11pm – 07:00am Rate of Pay: £16 per hour Reports To: General Manager

Position Overview

As our night shift cleaner you will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and site security overnight. Working independently, you will ensure all areas of the club are deep cleaned as per the cleaning schedule that we will provide to you. This dual purpose role requires a detail-oriented approach to cleaning and a vigilant attitude towards security and safety.

Key Responsibilities

Cleaning Duties:
General Cleaning: Clean and sanitise all areas, including gym floors, changing rooms, showers, toilets, sauna, reception, exercise studios and common spaces etc. Duties include dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitising surfaces.
Equipment Sanitation: Clean and disinfect gym equipment, weights, and machines to ensure hygiene standards.
Locker Room & Shower Maintenance: Thoroughly clean and disinfect locker rooms, showers, toilets, and sinks with particular attention to hygiene-sensitive areas.
Waste Management: Empty bins, replace liners, and dispose of waste according to club guidelines.
Restocking Supplies: Ensure that soap, hand sanitiser, and paper towels are replenished in locker rooms and restrooms.
Periodic Deep Cleaning: Conduct deep cleaning tasks, such as cleaning windows, mirrors, and high-traffic areas, as required.
Security Duties:
Premises Security: Secure the facility during night hours, ensuring all doors and windows are shut, and access is restricted to authorised staff and members only.
Surveillance: Conduct routine checks of the premises, remaining alert and maintaining a safe environment.
Alarm Management: Monitor and respond to any security or fire alarm activations, following the necessary procedures to secure the premises.
Incident Reporting: Report any incidents, damages, or necessary repairs to the Club General Manager promptly.

Skills & Competencies

Attention to Detail: Ensure all areas are consistently cleaned to a high standard, with special focus on hygiene-sensitive zones.
Reliability and Independence: Demonstrate a reliable, self-motivated approach to work independently through the night shift.
Time Management: Complete all cleaning and security tasks within the specified hours.
Health and Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with safe handling of cleaning products and equipment, and adherence to health and safety protocols.

Requirements

Experience: Prior experience in high standard of cleaning, preferably in a hospitality environment (but not essential).
Self-Motivated: Ability to manage tasks independently and take initiative during night shifts.

This role is ideal for a self-motivated person that is confidence to handle emergency situations when required. Your work will be essential in ensuring the facility is clean, safe, and welcoming for our members
