My client has a rare opportunity for a experienced Branch Manager to head up their Flag Ship store in Ipswich. Reporting into the Regional Manager, the Retail Branch Manager will be responsible for empowering your team to deliver the stores KPI’s; maximising sales, controlling costs and delivering first class customer service.
You will need to be an expert in your field, with previous experience of being the number 1 within a busy retail store. You will need to have excellent knowledge of pet and animal care and be comfortable in advising customers in this. Knowledge of equine care would be advantageous however not essential.
As Retail Branch Manager you will be leading from the front in this fast paced and demanding role, dealing with both retail and trade customers so you will need to be able to hit the ground running, take a hands on approach and not be afraid to get stuck in.
Retail Branch Manager Responsibilities:
- Take full responsibility for all aspects of running a busy retail and trade store
- Champion excellent store standards, ensuring that the cleanliness and hygiene standards in your store are nothing less than excellent.
- Plan & implement shop merchandising, layout & customer flow so as to maximise sales, customer satisfaction, presentation & ergonomics for customers
- Manage selling, customer service activities & staff competence in these areas to optimise & sustain sales performance, profitability and customer satisfaction
- Liaise with & utilise support from suppliers, merchandisers & other key stakeholders as required
- Manage, maintain & report as necessary all merchandised & non-merchandised stock
- Manage upkeep & condition of all equipment, fixtures & fabric of shop premises
- Manage health & safety, security, & emergency systems, capabilities, staff & customer awareness according to company policy & relevant laws
- Manage & motivate staff, recruit staff, train & develop staff according to agreed policies
- Attend meetings & contribute to company strategy & policy-making as required
Retail Branch Manager Duties Include:
- Ensure verbal & written instructions are carried out effectively & efficiently
- Manage merchandising & perform stock control effectively
- Manage the maintenance of hygiene & cleanliness of the branch
- Professionally communicate & liaise verbally with customers/ suppliers/ visitors/enquirers/ co-workers & managers.
- Attending and managing our presence at local events- County Shows, Dog Shows
Retail Branch Manager Skills Required:
- Ability to motivate self & others essential
- Important to be able to work on own initiative
- Be an effective communicator
- Excellent leadership skills
- Must be computer literate
- Attention to detail
- Confident & friendly personality is essential
- Any knowledge of animals would be an advantage
- Manual handling- individual goods up to 25kg
Retail Branch Manager Remuneration:
Competitive Salary of £36k pa OTE plus annual performance related bonus
