Accounts Assistant
Position Purpose
Working as part of a busy accounts team, we require a self-motivated individual who is organised and has an ability to work under pressure.
To provide effective financial support to the Business, our Customers and Suppliers.
Record, action & file all business related documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
Maintain a supportive & flexible approach in response to the business requirements.
Interact positively & courteously with other staff, departments & management
Duties & Responsibilities
* Code & input subcontractor invoices on the system.
* Be aware of the CIS scheme and how to process subcontractor invoices appropriately
* Obtain authorisation from the appropriate person for all purchase invoices.
* Liaise with both subcontractors and internal staff regarding invoice queries.
* Ensure weekly labour timesheets are processed & paid within agreed timescales
* Resolve queries raised on invoices in a timeous manner.
* Process all staff expenses.
* Process payment runs to creditors once invoices have been approved.
* Ensure all deadlines are met.
* Open the post each day & distribute to the appropriate members of staff
* Ad hoc duties as the business requires
* Willing to get involved in all aspects of accounts & assist colleagues when required
* All team members are responsible for answering the telephone in a friendly & professional manner
* All team members are responsible for clearing the accounts e-mail inbox
Person Criteria
* Previous experience in a similar industry
* Home address located within 5 miles of Head Office address
* Accurate with a keen sense of deadline awareness
* Flexibility to work additional hours where required
* Positive attitude, capable of working both independently and as part of a team
* Articulate and good communicator, both verbally and in writing, sound administrative, process and time management skills
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required
* Knowledge of the following systems & would be advantageous: Sage Line 50, Eque2, PaperLess, Construction Industry Scheme (CIS)
Hours: 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday 1 hour paid lunch break
Dress code: Smart Business Attire at all times
Holiday: 20 Days per annum
Trial Period: 4 Months
